Pre-season training tips

Here are some good tips for pre-season rugby training. Try doing these exercises for 8 weeks. Good luck if you’re going to give it a try,
Haz

1. Military Presses– From a sitting position pushing weight directly over your head.

2. Deltoid Lifts– From a sitting position lifting weight outward and to the side.

3. Biceps Curls– From a sitting position lifting weight by bending your arms.

4. Triceps Extensions– From a sitting position lifting weight by extending your arms.

5. Pull Downs– From a sitting position pulling weight downward and behind your neck.

6. Butterflies– From lying on your back with your arms either fully extended or bent at the elbow lifting weight from your sides without bending your arms (i.e.-not using you biceps to lift the weight).

7. Leg Curls– Like Biceps Curls except using your legs while lying on your stomach.

8. Leg Extensions– Like Triceps Extensions except using your legs while sitting.

Shane Williams

Is Shane Williams the best winger in the world? There are a lot of opinions especially from New Zealanders who think that anyone not wearing a black shirt can’t be the best (cough – world cup chokers).

But I think he is. Here is a video I found on youtube all about Shane. Hope you enjoy it.

Dore

I am dyslexic and I do this program called Dore. Kenny Logan and Scott Quinnell did it because they both suffered from dyslexia.

Scott Quinnell was doing a talk in Canton village hall. I went to it and a couple of days later the Dore people phoned up and said, ‘Please come and join us’. From that day on I have been doing the programme. Some of my abilities have improved e.g. I can now climb a wall. My balance has definitely improved and I think that my concentration is getting better. I only know how I have improved when I can write more and more sentences. Much more than I could do a few months ago. I had recently received a letter from Scott Quinnell and this is what he said:

Dear Harri, keep up the hard work it will be over before you know it. Well done. Best wishes from Scott Quinnell.

If anyone else has dyslexia or dyspraxia I would definitely recommend that they follow the Dore Programme. If you have either condition please try this link:http://dore.co.uk I hope to be very helpful to anyone else who suffers from these conditions just like Scott Quinnell and his children and Kenny Logan.
